Labour Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established

The Labour Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Department is responsible for employment rights and workplace safety for the staff of member organisations. It sets the minimum terms on which staff are employed within the Network, inspects workplaces, receives reports of safety concerns and incidents, and resolves disputes between staff and their employers.

With its establishment complete, the Department today launches its official website at labour.gov.vin. The site carries press releases and official statements, the Employment Rights Standard, guidance on working time and leave, workplace safety and inspections, and the procedures of the Dispute Resolution Service.

At establishment, 312 member organisations are registered with the Department as employers, employing 38,600 staff at the six principal sites of the Network. During the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026 the Department received 87 reports of safety concerns and carried out 23 inspections under interim arrangements; these are recorded in its first statistical release, published today.
