Statistics
The Labour Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network publishes statistics quarterly on the register of employers, reports of safety concerns and notifiable incidents, inspections and their outcomes, and the work of the Dispute Resolution Service. This first release records the position at establishment on 6 September 2026 and activity during the transition period from 10 August to 5 September 2026, when member organisations transferred their employment and safety functions to the Department and interim arrangements applied.

Register of employers. Every member organisation that employs staff within the Network is registered with the Department as an employer. The register records the sector and the sites at which each employer operates and is used to plan the inspection programme. Figures for staff are as returned by employers at registration and are rounded to the nearest hundred.

Activity during the transition period. The figures below record the reports, notifications, inspections and enquiries dealt with under interim arrangements between 10 August and 5 September 2026. Reports of safety concerns rose steadily through the period as staff became aware of the interim arrangements, from 9 in the first week to 34 in the last.

Reporting schedule. The Department's first full quarterly report will cover the period from 6 September to 31 December 2026, including the whole of the first inspection cycle and the first fifteen weeks of the Dispute Resolution Service, and will be published in January 2027. Thereafter reports are published within one month of the end of each quarter. Each report gives the number of safety concerns and notifiable incidents by sector and site, the inspections carried out and their outcomes, the notices served and complied with, and the referrals received and determined by the Service.
