All news- Labour Department Publishes the Employment Rights Standard
The Employment Rights Standard sets out the minimum terms on which staff of member organisations are employed within the Network. It applies from today to every contract of employment with a member organisation.
- Labour Department Announces First Workplace Inspection Programme
Ninety-six inspections of workplaces at the six principal sites of the Network will be carried out between 14 September and 18 December 2026. The programme, the sectors covered and the register of inspections to date are published from today.
- Labour Department Opens Safety Concern Reporting and the Dispute Resolution Service
Staff may report a workplace safety concern to the Department from today. The Dispute Resolution Service, which conciliates and determines disputes between staff and their employers, opens on Monday 14 September 2026.
About the Department
The Labour Department of the Velocity Interoperability Network is responsible for employment rights and workplace safety for the staff of member organisations of the Velocity Interoperability Network.
It sets the minimum terms on which staff are employed within the Network, inspects workplaces, receives reports of safety concerns and incidents, and resolves disputes between staff and their employers.
